Year Ago Flashback: June 13 and 14, 2008

One year ago on 6/13:

So I woke up pretty excited because my OB came in and told me that I may be able to go home since my symptoms were disappearing. And who said Friday the 13th is unlucky? The doc told me that I would need to do another 24 hour urine test and if the results came back satisfactory, I'd be able to be discharged. Throughout the day, I had fun monitoring my fluid intake AND outtake and turned in my big jug of pee to the nurse. I'll find out tomorrow the results.

One year ago on 6/14:
Well, the results are in and I'm stuck here in the hospital for good. The protein levels in the urine was elevated yet again so I'll be staying so they can continue to monitor me. It looks like the pre-eclampsia is back. I guess it's a good thing though that I'm still here because I've been having contractions today! At first, it was more of a nuisance than anything but now they are coming fairly frequently and are comfortable. They have started giving me shots to help stop the contractions but the meds make me very jittery and just blah! I hope these contractions cut it out because I don't know if I can deal with more shots today! The good news is the babies are doing great. They monitor them several times a day for approximately 3o minutes just to make sure everything is a-okay. The only problem has been finding Baby Girl C. She keeps swapping places with her brother and making it difficult to find her to monitor. Today they even had to get someone from L&D to come down and help since I'm in the antepartum wing on the first floor. Fun times!

The terbutaline shots did NOTHING for me except make me jittery and edgy. The ups and downs of a multiple pg are an interesting read. I lost my journal of that time so it's great you're putting this all in your blog for 'safekeeping'.
