Triplets on a Plane Part 2: Flying Back East

Our trip back to the East Coast wasn't quite as smooth as our trip out to Utah had been. First of all, I was still recovering from my stomach bug and we were concerned that either Eric, my mom or the babies were going to come down with it at any second. Can you imagine triplets barfing all over the place on the plane? Fortunately, no one got sick other than me but it was still a pretty rough trip for me.

When we arrived at the airport in Salt Lake City, we found out our flight was delayed. By the time our plane arrived in Denver, we only had enough time to run from one plane to the next in order to make our next flight so we didn't get a chance to feed the babies their solids, change diapers or get something to eat for the adults. The babies did well though, except for the occasional bouncing around, which was doing numbers on my still sensitive stomach. It helped that we were all seated pretty close together, Eric with Jamison sat on the other side of the aisle from myself and Krista with my mom sitting directly in front of me with Kiera. The girls had fun looking at each other over top of Nonna's seat and Kiera kept calling for "mama" and peeking over the top.

Since our original flight was delayed and our other flight was held, thank goodness, we ended up getting into DC about an hour later than planned. Krista, who had been itching to get down off my lap the entire second flight, was thrilled when other people got off the plane and she was able to stretch out while we waited for our strollers to be pulled out from the cargo area. She immediately crawled over to the window and thought it was so fascinating!

We had about a 45 minute drive back home and ended up stopping to get some food. The babies, however, protested immediately and all started bawling while Eric and I were in the convenience store. Poppy opened up the back hatch of the van and tried to comfort them but they were done! When we got back to our house, we immediately took them up to their cribs where they were out within a few minutes. What a trip!
