We have been using these so-called "sleep positioners" since we brought the trio home from the NICU to help keep the babies separated while being in the same crib and pack-n-play but also to keep the babies elevated to help with their reflux problems. Up until now, we haven't had any significant trouble with them, except them sliding down a bit from the elevation. Even now, when the babies are swaddled in the night, we tend to not have this problem. However, I guess now that they are getting bigger and more mobile, in combination with not being wrapped up, they are able to manuever themselves more.
I still cannot get over how Kiera ended up horizontal at the very bottom! It reminded me of when I was a little girl and would end up at the bottom of the bed in some awkward position. At the same time, this is a bit concerning because the babies could get smothered. Luckily, if they were to have any problems, the monitors would alert us and we'd be able to attend to them, but still! I thought these products were made, to keep babies in place. Isn't that why they are called "sleep positioners"?! According to the BRU website where these were purchased, "bolsters keep baby in desired back position." NOT! However, it does list one of the features as "removable and fully adjustable support wedges" and I'll say it definitely does that! Notice Kiera is using the wedge as a pillow. Regardless, it looks like we need to start putting the other 2 cribs together and having them sleep in their own beds sooner than later.
