Four Month Doctor Visit

Today we hauled the kiddies out to the Pediatrician's office. Fortunately, we only had to go a few miles down the road, not an hour away like the last doctor's visit. As soon as we entered the exam room, we had to strip the babies down so they could all get weighed and measured. The babies are getting so big that they no longer have to be tracked on the preemie chart and the percentiles listed below are comparing them to other babies that are four months old, even though Krista, Jamison and Kiera were born 8 weeks premature:

Krista
Weight: 12 lbs. 14 oz. - 30th %
Length: 22 3/4 in. (apparently she's shrinking or someone didn't measure right) - 10th %
Head Circum: 40.5 in. - 25th %

Jamison
Weight: 13 lbs. 3 oz. - 20th %
Length: 24 in. - 25th %
Head Circum: 41 in. - 10th %

Kiera
Weight: 10 lbs. 7.5 oz. - 5th %
Length: 21 in. - less than 5th % (didn't make the curve...yet)
Head Circum: 39 in. - 5th %

After that was finished, we waited for a few minutes for the doctor to come in to see us. While we were waiting, we decided to take some video of the babies laying on the table only in diapers. (WARNING: There is a loud noise at the beginning of the video due to a loose electrode. Now you'll know what we've been dealing with for the past 3+ months with the monitors when they go off.)

During the doctor's visit, the babies had a chance to show off their skills: smiling, cooing, giggling, tracking the doctor's face, standing and lifting head while on tummy. She was very impressed! In addition, she said that she's very pleased with their growth and development and that we'll see her in two more months. Unfortunately for the babies, this was not the end of the visit. Within a matter of seconds, the nurse came in carrying a handful of syringes. It was vaccination time! She went down the row, beginning with Krista and ending with Jamison, each taking their turn of being completely offended! We also managed to get some footage for you to see. Poor babies!

Luckily for us, it is very rare for all three babies to be crying at the same time. However, I hate to break it to them, but on Monday, they get their first monthly shot of Synagis for RSV. Awwwww!

The video of them all smiling and "talking" was way cute!! They were even cute all crying, but hopefully that doesn't happen too often. Happy 4 months!
