We took the babies on Friday to see the Pediatrician for their 9 month well visit. Overall, she was very impressed with the babies and seemed less concerned about their development than the Infants and Toddlers program!
Their latest stats:
Krista
19 lbs., 2 oz. (60th %)
26 3/4 in. long (30th %)
45 1/2 in. head circumference (50th %)
Jamison
18 lbs., 14 oz. (25th %)
27 1/2 in. long (30th %)
45 in. head circumference (45th %)
Kiera
15 lbs., 12 oz. (7th %)
25 in. long (less than 5th %)
44 in. head circumference (45th %)
We've had several people tell us lately when they see the trips that they can't believe that they started out so small. Sometimes I forget as well until I look at NICU photos or look at one of their preemie outfits and then it all comes flooding back to me.
They really are growing and developing so fast! Since my last blog post (has it really been well over a week?) the babies have learned some new tricks!
Krista has now got the army crawl thing down pretty good and I think it will only be a matter of days before she is crawling with her belly off the floor! She has also figured out how to pull up on furniture and baby equipment and is very proud of herself. In the last week or so, she has been holding her own bottle! We just put her in the space saver high chair with it tilted back and she feeds herself! This is such a lifesaver so that I can feed the other two babies at the same time.
Jamison graced us with his first word on Friday..."MAMA!" That's 2 out of 3 who said "mama" first and you know I'm proud! The next day, he also said "Dada" but unfortunately, Dada was not home to hear it and doesn't believe that he actually said it. Jamison is also learning what the word "no" means and enjoys shaking his head back and forth to say "no." I took him to get blood drawn to be tested for anemia last weekend, which was a nightmare because they couldn't get a good blood flow, so while the technician was attempting to prick him for the tenth time, he shook his head "no" and swatted at her. I don't blame him! After being stuck in both arms several times and in both hands with no success, they ended up having to do a finger prick and getting the blood drop by drop. The poor guy still has bruises on his arm to show for it.
Kiera is also getting around pretty good on the floor like big sissy and should be crawling very soon as well. She has also mastered being able to sit by herself for an extended period of time. The only problem is that once she is placed in sitting position, she does not know how to get out of it! I guess we'll have to work on that.

Wow, they sure have made a lot of progress. I think the doctors need to figure out to get it right the first time when they prick little babies, their little veins are so small--its heartbreaking.
I just love the new photos, Jamison is looking so much like Eric, just not as much hair:) and Krista looks just like you--isn't it fun to have babies look just like you!
Gosh, they're growing up fast! It won't be long before they're all on the move, how exciting! They are just so cute :)
Yours are getting big too! Can you believe how time has passed? They will be a year before we know it! I was surprised when the doc told me Makenna was eating too much! It is probably more of a weight thing then a age thing. I am guessing though! I still give her 28 oz, but don't make her eat it all, I let her play when she wants! The other two I try and make them eat it all! Makenna is also eating a lot more solids then the other two as well!
They sound very healthy! And looking at the pictures they are adorable!
Thank you for visiting my bkog today and stopping from SITS.
I'm glad you got good reports from the dr. They are growing fast. My oldest daughter was only about 15 lbs at 1 year old and she didn't have any issues, like being a premie or anything. She was just tiny! Your babes sound healthy.
