4th of July Festivities

We started out the day by going to the annual 4th of July Tri-Ward Flag Raising and Breakfast at our church. We didn't exactly make it in time for the flag raising since we were getting the babies dressed in their red, white and blue as well as packing up all the gear. However, everyone was impressed to see us so early in the morning! I kind of laughed because before we had kids, we probably would have skipped the whole thing just to sleep in but now with the munchkins around, we're up early every day!

Krista enjoyed visiting with everyone.

Anyhow, the babies were very hungry when we arrived so Eric got them set up at the table while I got in line for the food. When I got to the table, there was only fruit and cereal left. We had already brought a banana with us but were hoping that there would be pancakes and eggs like past years but no such luck! Needless to say, the babies ended up eating lots of Apple Jacks! Eventually, we did find some mini bagels but by that point, the babies were fussing, especially Jamison, and ready to split.

Kiera literally stared this poor girl down for a good 15 minutes!

Jamison managed to give a smile even though he was incredibly tired.

We all went home and took a nap before going over to our friends' home for a BBQ. The kiddos enjoyed eating pieces of cheeseburger patties, bread as well as watermelon for the very first time. They also had another first while we were there, laying in a hammock! Krista kept trying to stand up in it and would climb over brother and sister but all 3 enjoyed their ride.

The triplets also had a blast playing with the other children and checking out all of the lawn toys. After a couple of hours, everyone was exhausted again from being out in the sun so we called it a day and headed home. We decided that since the babies are still young and on a very strict schedule that we would forego the fireworks this year. All in all, it was a great day!

It sounds like you had a really fun day, it's fun to see them in their little outfits on the 4th:) It looks like they did rather well, Jamison is really quite social.

ha ha. I'm sorry the food was so not what you needed by the time you got to the table! It has definitely happened to me too.
My Madison loves to stare people down too. It makes people uncomfortable. lol
