We took the babies out for medical appointments twice in the last couple of days. On Thursday, we visited the pediatric opthamologist for a NICU follow-up appointment. The babies had fun studying all of the doctor's various happy meal toys and other interesting gadgets as they each took their turn having an eye exam. It turns out all is well with their eye development and vision so we do not have to return for another 2.5 to 3 years! The Doc did mention that Kiera's eyelids are a bit droopy and that we should just keep an "eye" on it but that it should not interfere with her vision development.
On Friday, it was back out into the cold to see the Pediatrician for their sixth month well visit. The babies got weighed again and it's amazing to see how much they gained in only a matter of days. I also have their other measurements and percentiles to share. If you want to compare from the fourth month visit, click HERE.
Krista
Weight: 16 lbs. 12 oz. - 70th % WOW
Length: 25 1/4 in. - 45th %
Head Circum: 43 in. - 25th %
Jamison
Weight: 16 lbs. 7 oz. - 45th %
Length: 26 1/2 in. - 50th %
Head Circum: 43 in. - 15th %
Kiera
Weight: 13 lbs. 8.5 oz. - 10th %
Length: 23 3/4 in. - less than 5th %
Head Circum: 42 in. - 30th %
Now remember, these measurements are being compared to other six month old babies that were full-term. These stats show you just how much they are catching up! The doctor was very pleased with their development and the babies charmed everyone in the office because of their extreme cuteness. This fact made it that much more difficult to give them their immunizations. We also opted for them to receive the flu shot - part 1. They will receive part 2 on Friday the 13th of February.
The pediatrician also gave her stamp of approval to begin solids so we started out with rice cereal today. It was a mixed review! Here's some pictures of the big day:
Krista was not a fan, spitting it out as fast as it went in!
Kiera seemed to take it down and keep it down!
Jamison was very interested in the spoon and somewhat interested in the cereal.

I thought four kids was a task but 3 all the same age.. you need an AWARD!! Welcome to my blog and GOOD LUCK winning the Woo Hoo box. I'll make sure to add some "just for mom" things incase you win:-)
OOOH you are in MD too. Lets do a snow dance eh? I'm sick of the cold and rain! Cold is worthless and anoying if you can't get snow out of it.
The babies are doing fantastic! You will be completely amazed how fast they take to eating! Are you planning on making their food? It's really easy if you haven't looked into it. I can give you lots of tips. Most of the places online assume you are only feeding one & making food only once a week. To me it is just as easy to do every two or three days and it seems like less work.
They are all SOOOO cute!
