Three Turkeys for Thanksgiving

It's hard to believe that this time last year, we were wishing for a little "turkey" and here we are with three "turkeys!" I even found some cute turkey onesies for the babies to wear for the occasion!

We took the babies over to my parents' home, which was quite the production, even though it's less than 2 miles away. My mother was smart and started taking over necessities days in advance such as bottles and formula to make the journey a little easier. It still took a lot of time to pack up everything: all baby gear (including but not limited to bibs, burp cloths, bumbos, a bouncer...I'm feeling a "b" theme coming on), food items for recipes and of course, the babies!

It was nice to have a change of venue and to spend time with "Nonna" and "Poppy." My brother, Brett, and his girlfriend, Becky, were also able to make it, even though they live several hours away. This was only their second time seeing the babies and Brett seemed to have a way with them, making each laugh over and over again.

We had a delicious meal but the babies were protesting and Krista and Kiera ended up joining us at the dinner table, making it a bit difficult to eat.

After an enjoyable day, it was time to haul the babies back home. We were all exhausted and ready for bed, especially after that tryptophan kicked in!

In all seriousness, it was a great opportunity to reflect on all the many choice blessings we have been given over the past year, especially with the new additions to our family and all of the outpouring of love and support we have received from so many, whether it be a home-cooked meal, feeding a baby, a simple phone call to check on how we're doing or folding laundry, we are truly grateful! I must also give a personal THANK YOU to my parents. They have been so supportive of us and the babies since we all found out we were having triplets. They can be found in our home on an almost daily basis doing any task that is needed and without complaint. We are truly spoiled but we honestly don't know what we would do without them! They are wonderful grandparents to the babies and all of our lives have been blessed by their unconditional love, service and sacrifice. I love them both very much and we're so grateful that we have them nearby.
