Labor Day Weekend trip to NC

For Labor Day weekend, we drove down with my parents to North Carolina to check out the area because they are looking to retire there in the next year or so. We have talked about the possibility of us following them at some point so it was what Eric called a "fact finding trip." It was interesting to check out the towns and see the beautiful homes in the Raleigh area. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the babies did on the ride down and back. Of course, we had to make several stops but they were very well behaved and didn't give us much trouble during the 6 hour ride.

The babies loved their 1st hotel stay. We got a really nice suite with two separate bedrooms each with its own bathroom connected by a main living area complete with a kitchenette. The room between the two bedrooms made a great makeshift nursery for the triplets with the 3 pack n' plays we set up. The triplets had free reign over the rooms and had a blast going back and forth between all of them. They also got a kick out of the mirrored closet doors.





We had to haul our space savers with us to use at breakfast in the hotel. One morning, we even ran into another set of triplets, 2 boys and a girl that were 4 years old! On Sunday night, since it was the Sabbath, we stayed in and cooked our meals. The babies really enjoyed their 1st T.V. dinner!

They even wanted to help Daddy with the dishes after the meal.

Another highlight of the trip was the trio's first (and second) time to the pool. I had wanted to take them swimming all summer long but it just never happened since I was most always by myself. It worked out to have 3 adults in the pool so there was a 1:1 ratio with mom on the sidelines as the photographer.




Krista was like a fish! Within minutes, she was putting her face in the water and dog paddling.
Jamison seemed to like the water as well and liked to be on his tummy! Kiera was not quite sure what to think at first but once she got used to it, we saw some smiles!

However, they did not like getting out of the pool! Look at these faces from Krista and Jamison:



Kiera wasn't too happy at first either but she was glad she still could play with her pool toy.


It was a nice trip and we look forward to our next visit!
