All Aboard the Choo Choo Wagon!!!

Early in 2009, we purchased a highly coveted choo choo wagon from another triplet family. For those who do not know about the demand for these wagons, they are a hot commodity! Step2, the company who makes these wagons, discontinued the product so everyone has been jumping for the chance to get their hands on one of these and therefore, people are taking advantage of the situation asking ridiculous prices for them. The thing is, a lot of people are paying between $200-$450 for one of these wagons that has a car for each triplet. Then there are those idiots on Ebay who are trying to sell theirs for almost $1000!!! Luckily for us, we got ours for $50! It is a couple years old and has a bit of fading but other than that, it's in great shape and is just fine for us.

Even though we've had it for months, we only recently took it out for a spin around the neighborhood. Since we live in a townhouse with no garage, we have ours stored on the deck and it's a huge pain to haul it through the house to get it outside. Each time I've wanted to use it, I would find it filled with rainwater or leaves and the need to clean it made me instantly lose interest in taking the triplets for a ride.

I finally rediscovered my motivation, cleaned the wagon and had my father help me haul the wagon outside one August afternoon. The children were immediately fascinated and wanted to check it out. I parked the wagon in front of the house and loaded the kids in one by one. We then took it around the court a few times over. They loved it with the exception of Kiera but only when it stopped moving. It really is a great alternative to the stroller and the trio look adorable in it! Hopefully this will be the first of many enjoyable choo choo rides for years to come!

The trio staring down a weird neighbor! Apparently he was quite offensive.

Fun times in the Choo Choo Wagon!!!

So adorable!!! We too have to keep our wagon on our porch. But we use a tarp to put over it and it keeps all the leaves and rain out! And it's easy to take the tarp on/off (much less time than having to clean it out). I have this ever growing fear that something on our wagon is going to break and I won't be able to replace it! I hope Step 2 makes it again soon!!!!!!

That Choo Choo wagon has been a hot comodity for MANY YEARS. We bought ours in 2001 (we have twins so we didn't buy the 3rd car and I always regreted it- it would have been great to haul diaper bags etc.) I remember the news that they were discontinuing the wagon spreading through Cyberspace. I think we ordered ours from a toy store in Oklahoma and had it shipped.

I'm glad they are enjoying the wagon- they sure look cute in it!
