Babies in Bloom

Recently, a couple of the moms from church told us they would be heading to the library for something called "Babies in Bloom" so we decided to check it out. It's a monthly gathering geared for babies up to 24 months for a half hour of stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and fun! My friend, Liz, and her baby, Raya, joined us and we spotted some familiar faces across the room as well.

When we got there, it was just about to start so we were directed to sit down on the floor on the edge of the semi-circle of chairs. Kiera, however, decided that she was going to sit right smack dab in the middle of the floor where she had a great view of all the participants. It was funny to me how she was not shy at all and just planted herself there.

Jamison and Krista weren't shy either as they started to make their way across the room to make new friends and play with new items of interest such as rhythm eggs, scarfs, balls and musical instruments. They all loved singing the songs and doing the actions like we do at home.

At the end of the session, the presenter came around with a bubble maker and the kids went crazy! They had a blast trying to catch the bubbles! I guess we need to get some for home.

It's always nice to find a fun, free activity to do with the kids that gets us out of the house once in awhile. We had a great time and we'll definitely have to go again sometime, although I don't think it will be until Spring now that sick season is in full swing! Until next time!
